Ingredients

°3 large potatoes

°1 chopped white onion

°1.6 pouns (750 grams) beef

°1 tsp (15 ml) paprika

°1 cup (100 grams) shredded mozzarella cheese

°1 c (250 ml) basic bechamel sauce

°Salt & pepper to taste

° fresh parsley

°To prepare the bechamel sauce:

°4 cups (1 liter) milk

°5 tsp (75 g) butter

°4 tablespoons (48 grams) flour

°2 teaspoons (10 ml) salt

°½ teaspoon (3 ml) nutmeg


Potatoes with Meatballs and Cheese is a delicious dish that combines the flavors of beef, potatoes, and cheese. To make this dish, you will need three large potatoes, one chopped white onion, 1.6 pounds (750 grams) of beef, one teaspoon (15 ml) of paprika, one cup (100 grams) of shredded mozzarella cheese, one cup (250 ml) of basic bechamel sauce, salt and pepper to taste, and fresh parsley for garnishing.


To prepare the bechamel sauce, you will need four cups (1 liter) of milk, five teaspoons (75 grams) of butter, four tablespoons (48 grams) of flour, two teaspoons (10 ml) of salt, and half a teaspoon (3 ml) of nutmeg.


To make the dish, start by peeling and slicing the potatoes into thin rounds. In a greased baking dish, arrange a layer of potato slices. Sprinkle some chopped onion on top. In a separate bowl, combine the beef, paprika, salt, and pepper. Shape the mixture into small meatballs and place them on top of the potatoes. Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the meatballs.


Next, prepare the bechamel sauce. In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the flour and stir until well combined. Gradually add the milk while stirring constantly to avoid lumps. Cook the sauce until it thickens, then season with salt and nutmeg.


Pour the bechamel sauce over the potatoes, meatballs, and cheese in the baking dish. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 30-35 minutes or until the potatoes are tender and the cheese is melted and golden brown.


Once cooked, remove the dish from the oven and let it cool slightly. Garnish with fresh parsley before serving.
